Tuskegee Golden Tigers Baseball Day 2

This past Sunday I went back out to see the Tuskegee Golden Tigers play in the second day of the Peachtree City Tournament. The forecast again called for rain all day, but the rain was only a sprinkle.

II used my Canon 7D and Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens.  The second day of action was better to shoot since I had more daylight on a cloudy day. The Golden Tigers lost both of their games that day.  Below are some shots from the game.

With this shot the saying, "some times its better to be lucky that good" applies here.  During Jared Steele's at bat I was looking around at other things to shoot.  During the pitchers wind up I just decided to just point the camera back to Jared and with luck captured this image.  I am happy to say Jared wasn't injured and continued playing

Tuskegee Golden Tigers Baseball

This weekend a friend came in town to see her son who is the pitching coach for the Tuskegee Mens baseball team.  Tuskegee and other schools played in a tournament in Peachtree City, GA. After the first game ended, I decided to bring out my cameras to capture some action for their second game.

For the majority of my shooting I used my Canon 7D with 70-200mm/f 2.8 lens.  The games were played at a facility called Home Plate.  The field is nice and cozy but not the best for shooting games in my opinion because everything is fenced off.  With this challenge I did the best I could to shoot through the back screen netting and a chain link fence.

Tuskegee ended up losing both games, but it was good to see some familiar faces and have a few laughs while watching some baseball.   Below are a few of the shots.

To the Tuskegee parents I met that inquired about photos.   Keep checking back as I will create a special page that will include all the game shots I took.

Enjoy

Walk To End Alzheimer's

This past Saturday morning I volunteered to shoot photos for the 2014 Walk to End Alzheimer’s event in Peachtree City, GA. It was a chilly morning, but over 1000 walkers showed up to help end the Alzheimer’s disease. For this shoot I used my trusty Canon T1i and Canon 7D bodies and used a Canon 70-200mm f 2.8 lens and Sigma 18-200 f 3.4 lens. The 70-200mm lens turned out to be great for this event. It was cloudy that day and I was getting a bit frustrated using Canon T1i and Sigma combination because I was trying to shoot a cleaner image by keeping the ISO to 200 but the shots just kept being under expose. So what does a photographer do, keep calm and shoot on. It was a great turnout for a great cause and with the money raised, hopefully a cure for Alzheimer’s will be discovered soon.

Below is a shot of the Promise Garden.  Each walk participant received a flower and the color of the flower represented a connection to Alzheimer's

Blue: is for someone who has Alzheimer's or dementia

Purple: is for the lost of a loved one

Yellow: is for someone supporting or caring for someone with Alzheimer's

Orange: is for everyone who supports the cause and vision of a world without Alzheimer's

At the finish line there was a cheering squad that help all participants to finish strong.  Here is a shot of one of the volunteers giving a high five to one of the runners.

Finally I'll leave on the last shot below.   For this event I took my GoPro Hero 3 camera.   I was doing some testing with the GoPro app on my phone and got this shot of the Promise Garden.  It was so nice to have a live preview on my phone while doing some testing. As the walkers cross the finish line, they saw the big Thank You banner.

Thanks You for checking out this post
